I Love Red

Well it's not my favourite colour - but it is for my friend Gaileen! I was inspired by her favourite colour when making this card. Base card is red bazzill cardstock. Have used some scrapbooking paper - painted design for the bottom of the card. Red and pink cardstock used for the tag, punched flowers and flower border at the top of the card. All stamping has been stamped with white versa color ink and then embossed with Stampendous Ultra Detail white embossing powder. Stamps - flower border and tag are from Hero Arts; Happy Birthday words from Stamp-It. Punches are from EK Success. On the punched flowers I have swiped around the edges of the petals with the white versa color pad to soften things up a bit. Have also used some textured thread and a gemstone on the card.

Dad's Birthday Card

It was my Dad's birthday a couple of weeks ago. Here's a card designed especially for him! Car is from Stamp-It (Australia) and the Harlequin pattern is from Hero Arts. Birthday Wishes stamp is a clear stamp from Inkadinkado. Deep brown and red cardstock along with striped paper have been used. Technique - stamped the car in pinecone versacolor ink and then masked it. Then stamped harlequin pattern over the top with burgundy versacolor ink. Sponged some vanilla versacolor ink over the harlequin pattern with a tissue to get an aged look. Stamped car again and clear embossed on another piece of cardstock and then cut out and put over the top of the base image with magic mount (it's a bit hard to see the extra dimension in the scanned photo).

I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out. Boys cards can be hard to do!!

Sorry about how this displays on the blog with all the blank space below the image. Will have to work out how to crop this out.

House Warming Card

Hi again! Here's a card that I gave to my friends Megan and Peter who are setting up their new home. A quick and easy card to make - the "a new home" stamp came with Craft Stamper (UK) magazine and the background flowers stamp is from Fern Gully Stamps (Australia). Background flowers are stamped in orchid versacolor ink. New home is stamped in archival ink and coloured with watercolour pencils. Kindyglitz to jazz it up a bit!

My First Post

Hi. Thought I'd start the ball rolling with a card I made for my husband for Valentine's Day. Base card is Bazzil cardstock. In the background I have used the resist embossing technique. The heart border on black cardstock is embossed with white embossing powder. The main heart has been stamped in black on purple paper and then swiped over with Versamark and then clear embossed. All stamps are from Hero Arts.
