Paul's Birthday Card

Here's the birthday card I made for my brother. Background yellow cardstock - I've stamped with Versamagic ink the present stamp and then chalked over with orange chalk. Bird and saying stamps stamped on white cardstock with black archival ink. Coloured with watercolour pencils and blended in with the Dove blender pen. All Stamps from Hero Arts - Clear Design Bird sets.

September Wedding

We are going to a wedding in a couple of weeks time. Have stamped on white gloss cardstock the love and cherish stamps from Hero Arts in white Versa Color ink and then embossed in fine white embossing powder. Swiped some Versa Magic chalk pads over the cardstock (Pink Petunia, Wheat, and Perfect Plumeria colours) - buffed with a tissue. Swiped around the card with a gold pad and embossed with gold powder. Ended up restamping the love an cherish words over the original stamped image - just to make it stand out a bit more. Have punched small retro flowers (EK Success) out of gold wrapping paper; deep pink cardstock; and some petal design paper (recycled from the lining of an envelope).

Caitlin's Blanket

Here's the reason why I haven't been stamping as much over the last few months. Have been crocheting Caitlin a blanket - finished it in time for her birthday last week! I'm very happy with how my first crocheted piece has turned out.

Ben's Birthday Card

My friend's little boy has turned one! Here's the birthday card I made for him. Unfortunately the "one" word is a bit hard to see on the card in the scanned image. It has beenb stamped in a aqua blue colour as well as yellow. Giraffe is from Stamp-It; Happy Birthday from Penny Black, "one" from Hero Arts Clear Design number one set. Patterned papers used in background.

Father's Day Card

Well it's Father's Day next weekend, so I thought I'd better get started with making some cards. I have heaps to make this week - 3 father's day cards, a birthday card for Caitlin, a birthday card for Mum - all due this coming weekend! Stress!!!
I have been sick the last few weeks and have had no motivation to do cards. Last night I made this card for my Dad and I'm really happy with how it came out. Had fun with resist embossing - I do love this technique. Have used a Hero Arts clear fern stamp (letter F in the alphabet range of stamps) - embossed in white on white gloss card. Have swiped over the top with VersaMagic Dew Drop chalk pads Spanish Olive and Aegean Blue. Polished with a tissue - then swiped gold over the cardstock and embossed with gold embossing powder. For the Father word - have used the large F from the Hero Arts clear F stamp set and letters from a Hero Arts Classic Alphabet set. All mounted on blue and olive cardstock.

Wedding Acceptance Card

Opened card - I have blocked out the message I have written.

Card closed.

We have been invited to another wedding that is on in September. Grape bazzil cardstock has been used. Folded in half and then folded one of the halves in half again - the folds from left to right go mountain fold then valley fold. Have stamped on white cardstock the Hero Arts florentine scroll background. Cut a strip for the front left of the card - butted against the mountain fold. Ends of card I have attached small strips of silver cardstock. With scrap florentine stamped card have cut out heart shape and then some larger hearts in grape and silver. Mounted all together and then stuck half the heart over the florentine scroll so that mountain fold is in the middle of the heart. The acceptance stamp embossed in silver is from Lucy's Stamps.

Enjoy

I made this card for a friend who has just got a new job. A grape coloured Bazzil cardstock has been used for the base of the card. Have stamped Hero Arts Florentine Scroll Background stamp in VersaMagic Perfect Plumeria on white cardstock and mounted onto grape card. On some smaller white cardstock I swiped the Perfect Plumeria over the card and then stamped Hero Arts "Great Enjoy" stamp in the same colour and then mounted on silver cardstock. Then mounted this on card so that it overlapped the grape and florentine sections. Punched out grape cardstock with large Kikyou punch and again some scrap white card with the florentine pattern on it. Also with a small Kikyou punched out some small flowers in grape cardstock. Mounted these as shown and topped with a crystal on each flower.
This is the first bit of stamping I've done in a little while. I've been madly crocheting Caitlin's blanket. It is nearly there! Will post a picture when it is complete.

Asian Birthday Card

This is a card that I've made for my friend Peter. Also made another the same for my brother-in-law. I try to make multiple cards now of the same design so that I have enough cards when a birthday comes around. Just too little time to do some stamping with a toddler in the house! The background of this cardstock has been stamped with a Lucy's Texture Cube in vanilla versacolor (you can't see it on the scanned image - but it just gives the cardstock a nice aged appearance). The crane image is also a Lucy's stamp - stamped in pinecone versacolor. The edges of the cardstock have been swiped with the pinecone ink. Image has then been mounted onto gold cardstock.

I haven't had much time to stamp lately, but I have been crocheting a blanket for Caitlin - so I will try to upload a picture of the finished product soon. I'm hoping to have it completed in 2-3 weeks! It's been nice crocheting on cold winter nights and watching the show Heroes. Saw the final episode of season 1 - can't wait to see season 2 now!

Sympathy Card

I've just made this card for a friend whose Mum passed away last week. White gloss card with Stamp-It Dandelion stamped in white versacolor and embossed with fine white embossing powder. Have swiped light and dark blue chalk pads, plus a pink chalk pad over the gloss card and then rubbed it down with a tissue. Swiped a gold ink pad around the edge and then embossed with gold embossing powder. Image was then mounted on textured blue cardstock.

Ribbons

A quick card using Hero Arts ribbon stamp set and sentiment. Ribbons have been stamped with versacolor inks. Have used Fiskars scissors on the cardstock around the sentiment and raised it up with foam tape.

Well I'm exhausted after all of these posts!! I find it easier to upload a few cards in one hit - but I had quite a few I needed to upload this time.

Jamaican Forget-Me-Not

You may have worked out I'm addicted to Hero Arts stamps (as well as flower stamps in general!). Again all stamps from Hero Arts except the sentiment on the vellum card - this is from Stamp-It. Have been playing with the Marvy Markers again. The sentiment stamps have been embossed either in gold or black embossing powder.

More Flowers!

This design was in a stamping magazine - and I just had to make it myself!! I love how simple the design is. All stamps are from Hero Arts.

It is giving me some ideas to try out on other cards now. I like how the silver embossing on the torn vellum makes this card so elegant.

Dry Embossed Cards

Here's some more of the dry embossed cards that I did in a class a while back now. All stamping has been done with a sepia ink pad. Images have been coloured with chalks - as has the dry embossing. The flowers on the first two cards have been cut out and raised up with foam tape. The third card has a printed flower border raised up with foam tape.

Pretty Cards Take 2

Here's some more cards with the pretty stripey background. All stamps are from Hero Arts. Again have used the tri-coloured brilliance pad for the background and wavy word border, and Marvy Markers for the flowers.

Background Work

I've been playing with my new Aud Design stamps. I'm planning on making a card or scrapbook page with this background. Have been using the resist-embossing technique again because it is just so pretty!!! Will post the end result when I finish things up. Now I just need to wave my magic wand and produce a few more hours to stamp away in!!

Pretty Happy Birthday Card

I'm a bit disappointed with how this card looks in the scanned image. The cardstock border around the flower looks very blue compared to how it looks normally! Again I've used the Hero Arts stipes - this time with a tri-coloured Brilliance pad. Wavy Happy Birthday is from Hero Arts and stamped with the same ink pad. Flower also from Hero Arts - have used blue, purple, and pink Marvy Markers.

Again - I think this looks better in real life than via the scanner!

Birthday Card For James

Here's a card for my new brother-in-law. I haven't had much time to stamp lately - so this was a very quick card!! Stripes are from a Hero Arts stamp - have used blue and green marvy markers for the colour. Happy Birthday stamp is from Penny Black - inked in Denim Adirondack ink. I think this card looks better standing on the shelf! The scanner sort of harshens up the image a bit.

Stitched Flower

I've used the same Flower Stamp (Hero Arts) from the previous post. Image has been embossed with fine black embossing powder and then coloured with Marvy Markers. Some Kindy-Glitz has also been added. The background image is a scroll stamp from Aud Design - again embossed with fine black embossing powder. I love this stamp!

I Love Flower Stamps

My stamping friends have a bit of a laugh at me because of my addiction to flower stamps. I have drawers full of them - yet I always manage to convince myself that I need more. I'm trying to be very good and not buy anymore for a while (the craft fair in Sydney is coming up at the end of June - need to save my pennies for that). Here's a card with a flower stamp I purchased a couple of months ago - it's from Hero Arts. The image has been embossed with silver embossing powder and then coloured with metallic pencils. Word borders are also from Hero Arts and embossed the same way.

Cameron's Birthday Card

It's my husband's birthday tomorrow (21st May). Here's the card I have made for him using Aud's circle/dot stamp; Lucy's dragon stamp; words by Stamp-It. Inside the card I've used Aud's stamp again and a Hero Arts sentiment stamp. I think he will like this card - he's into Dungeons and Dragons and sci-fi/fantasy books!

Photo Booklet

This is the photo booklet I started a few weeks back in a class. I gave it to my Mum yesterday and she loved it! There are photos of my Nanna, Mum, me and my daughter Caitlin.

I even managed to put some of Aud's lovely sentiment stamps in the booklet. They arrived just before I finished making it!

Mother's Day

Here's some Mother's Day cards that I've made this year. I made 5 cards with this design for mothers and grandmothers in our family. The idea came from the Stampendous website (www.stampendous.com) in the projects section. I didn't have any of their stamps so I have used similar stamps to them.

Wedding Card

I made this card last night for my sister-in-law's wedding this weekend. I've still got to put a verse or something inside the card yet. All stamps are by Hero Arts. Burgundy Versa Color ink has been used for the hearts and clear embossed. The "love border" stamp has been stamped with versa mark ink and embossed with fine black embossing powder.

Other news I've been madly cutting out Aud's stamps that I received in the mail the other day. I've even managed to use some of Aud's sentiments stamps in a mini-booklet I've made for my Mum. Just got to download the photos of the booklet and I will upload to the blog!

Dry Embossed Card

A card that I made in a class the other day using a corner stencil for dry embossing. Chalks added to lift the embossing effect. A picture has been added with magic mount and also chalked over. A l little bit of the embossed areas have been cut out to show the base card through the design.

Thank You

Here's a card I did for my cousin. It was a very quick and easy card to make. Background stamp is from Lucy's Stamps - have used shadow ink. Flower and Thank You tag are from Hero Arts.
I'm trying to get some time to finish off some cards. I'm madly working on mother's day cards, a birthday card for Cam's Mum, and a wedding card for his sister - everything needs to be finished by Wednesday before we go tripping off to the wedding in Canberra! Expect some posts soon with new cards - hopefully I will be able to fit time in to scan them onto the computer.

Star Card

Cam's Nanna was 90 not long ago. This is the card I made for her birthday. Lots of my stamping friends let me use their stamps so that I could have a variety of sayings and images for this card. For the front cover I printed out a photo on normal paper and then put some acetate over the top. Made the frame out of thick cardboard - covered it in gold ink and then put on Utee embossing powder. Did a few layers. The last layer I put gold embossing powder on it and then while it was hot stamped a Hero Arts flower design around into the frame. All other stamping within the star card has been with a gold ink pad and gold embossing powder.

I Love Red

Well it's not my favourite colour - but it is for my friend Gaileen! I was inspired by her favourite colour when making this card. Base card is red bazzill cardstock. Have used some scrapbooking paper - painted design for the bottom of the card. Red and pink cardstock used for the tag, punched flowers and flower border at the top of the card. All stamping has been stamped with white versa color ink and then embossed with Stampendous Ultra Detail white embossing powder. Stamps - flower border and tag are from Hero Arts; Happy Birthday words from Stamp-It. Punches are from EK Success. On the punched flowers I have swiped around the edges of the petals with the white versa color pad to soften things up a bit. Have also used some textured thread and a gemstone on the card.
